To Homer’s Maroneia on the slopes of Mount Ismarus, where the Roxani Country House Hotel is located at an altitude of 200 metres facing south-southwest. The first building of the hotel complex was built in 2000 through the LEADER 2 programme.
The two newer buildings were completed in summer 2005 through the LEADER+ programme.
The intermediary body for both phases of the programme was the Rodopi Development Company .
The hotel complex is situated in a lush garden of 20,000 m2, crossed by a stream bordered with plane trees.
The area is famed for its microclimate and its Mediterranean landscape features. There are extensive olive groves and vineyards known for the quality of their produce.
